One of the most well-known steels in industry and commercial applications, is stainless steel. Surely everyone has ever come into contact with it. It provides a wide range of possibilities for its practical application.
In fact, stainless steel is steel that is resistant to weathering, alkaline solutions or dilute acids. Stainless steel sheets show corrosion resistance due to their high chromium content, up to 30 percent. In the group of stainless steels, high-chromium and austenitic steels are mentioned.
Stainless steel pipes can be used in many extreme environmental conditions. Stainless ste els are subject to heat treatment and can be welded, but this weakens the properties and corrosion resistance of the steel.
Acid-resistant steel
Acid-resistant steel, also known as acid-resistant, is resistant to acids of lesser strength than sulfuric acid. It is obtained such characteristics due to the stabilization of austenite under normal conditions. Chromium, nickel, manganese, titanium or molybdenum and copper are added to it.
